It was an engaging and practical report that Trudi Isler, René Wettler, and Vinzenz Vetsch presented to us today at the Agile Breakfast . They began by briefly reiterating what a retrospective is and how it is implemented at ZKB , and then moved on to the core message: how to embed the continuous improvement process within a large organization. This was achieved by establishing a Community of Practice (CoP). René Wettler explained how this CoP came about, how it functions, and its future direction in the final part of the presentation, as well as the challenges the CoP faces. The number of retrospectives facilitated by the CoP since 2019 is also impressive: 209 retrospectives across the entire bank.
The numerous questions demonstrated the audience's keen interest, which the three speakers answered in a practical manner. It was wonderful to see how ZKB, and especially its Community of Practice (CoP) retrospectives, have continuously evolved in small steps and continue to do so, providing the organization with significant added value: the opportunity to learn and improve!
Only those who understand yesterday can ensure that tomorrow will be better!
