Overview of the new features
In our Tosca update webinar, Benjamin Tan presented the most important new functions and features that Tricentis has announced for the coming year. Here's a brief summary of the highlights – ideal for anyone looking to make their test automation more efficient.
Tosca Data Integrity
Tosca Data Integrity has been enhanced. The new functionality not only allows for the comparison of XML and JSON data, but also provides an intuitive overview of which data has been checked and whether the results were successful. The visual representation of attributes and values is particularly helpful.
Datatype RawString
The new RawString allows data to be read and processed without any prior processing. Unlike conventional strings, Tosca does not interpret the data but stores it in its raw format. This opens up new possibilities, especially for complex or non-standard datasets.
Number of Occurrences
Another practical feature is the string function " Number of Occurrences". This allows you to easily count strings in texts – ideal for analysis purposes. For example, if you want to investigate how often the term "Infometis" occurs in a text, Tosca will provide the answer in seconds.
Elastic Execution Grid
The Elastic Execution Grid is being extended to support both cloud and on-premises users. Tricentis plans to make this functionality available for on-premises environments soon – an exciting development for teams that want to leverage local resources.
Outlook for 2025: Even more innovations from Tricentis
Tricentis has already given an outlook on future developments:
- Tosca Cloud: new dashboards, tunneling support and accessibility testing
- Autonomous testing: Create test cases using natural language and automatically provide data.
- Vision AI in Mobile Testing: Extensions for mobile testing with a new Virtual Mobile Grid
Ben's personal highlight: Array handling
One feature that particularly excites me is the new array handling. It offers exciting possibilities for efficient data processing and opens up new use cases.
