TOSCA Special Execution Task (SET)
Special cases. We've all been there: needing a bit more functionality with TOSCA modules, or requiring a module to perform specific tasks. This is where TOSCA Special Execution Tasks, or SET for short, come in. With TOSCA SET, you can extend existing modules with additional functionality or create new ones using entirely new modules. For example, you can perform calculations, encrypt data, or easily write values from the database to the TDM (Technical Data Management) system. The possibilities are diverse and virtually endless.
How does it work?
To enable users to extend or create modules with a SET, TOSCA provides a well-documented .NET API.
What do you need?
- Microsoft Visual Studio. Microsoft offers a Visual Studio Community Edition that can be downloaded for free from the internet.
- TOSCA 10 or higher.
- And of course, ideas. 😊
Who is needed?
A developer or partner with .NET know-how, ideas and a passion for extending TOSCA.
What about maintenance costs?
Maintenance is very low and can be carried out quickly when changing versions of TOSCA, if necessary, or dependent libraries, by recompiling and/or replacing libraries.
We have already implemented several TOSCA SET projects for our customers.
Examples:
- Reading data from a database and writing it to the TOSCA TDM. 1000 TDM entries in approximately 20 seconds. Deleting TOSCA TDM entries is also possible. Reading from Excel forms is currently under development.
- Calculation and formatting.
- Encrypting and decrypting values.
- And much more.
