Test support at the Office for Supplementary Benefits
On January 12, 2018, the successful launch of the city's largest software development project in the last ten years was celebrated in the Papiersaal Sihlcity. With the multi-tenant system "ZLPro," the City of Zurich and over 10 other municipalities in the canton calculate and manage supplementary benefit claims to the Old-Age and Survivors' Insurance (AHV/IV). ZLPro manages over 25,000 cases with a cash flow of approximately one billion Swiss francs per year. Pascal Stiefel and Bernd Staiger were among those who toasted the successful launch . Infometis supported the City of Zurich in this project with its testing expertise. This included the use of the TOSCA Test Suite for functional end-to-end tests, which were primarily developed by Infometis engineer Frank Kokoska. Furthermore, the application and its surrounding systems were subjected to several stress test scenarios to verify compliance with the contractually agreed performance criteria. The software Neoload was used, which was not only employed for load generation but, thanks to its integrated analysis functionality, was able to identify the causes of performance bottlenecks. The effort paid off, as the application has been running stably and with high performance since its phased rollout in the fourth quarter of 2017.
