Every year we donate a portion of our profits to charity – and have been doing so for many years.
Every Infomet employee gives up a portion of their variable salary to make the world a little bit better.
We nominate non-profit organizations, among which the amount is then divided equally. We usually have a personal connection to these organizations and are therefore convinced that we are making a meaningful difference.
Organizations we supported in 2021
A former player (FCV women, now doing interval training for the marathon), who had the opportunity to train our Infomet, is on the board of the ALD charity. She also supports her friend, who suffers from this disease and whom our Infomet also knows personally.
As it is a small Swiss organization, they are naturally very grateful for any support. Our Infomet team also regularly participates as volunteers at various charity events.
The word aphasia comes from Greek. It means "without speech" and is translated as "loss of speech." Aphasias are acquired language disorders that occur after damage to the language-dominant hemisphere of the brain.
The Brunau Foundation is a local aid organization that provides employment and professional support to people with disabilities.
The family of one of our informants knows a family who work with this foundation. Over the past few years, they have been able to participate in several events, such as an Iftar (breaking of the fast) or an evening on the topic of "Islamic Mysticism and Whirling Dervishes." Each of these events was held in the community room of the Catholic church, which prioritizes integration and mutual understanding. In addition to the continuing education programs described on their website, promoting integration is a key focus, as is welcoming and supporting refugees.
Casa Herbalife in Friedau: One of our informants and his wife are delighted that Casa Herbalife in Friedau is receiving a donation. Last year's donation made a significant difference. Casa Herbalife in Friedau is a children's home and also provides safe housing for mothers and children from broken homes. This institution is financed by approximately 100 Casa Friends (donors and active volunteers) and is also directly supported by our informant and his wife. Much is being done to ensure that the children and mothers feel safe and can build a bright future together.
Edventure Nepal is dedicated to providing a home and education for orphans in Pokhara, Nepal. It's a small orphanage currently housing 11 children. Our contact person had the opportunity to meet the founder, Amrit Tiwari, during his vacation in Nepal in 2013 and also supported the children with English and math lessons. His last visit was in 2017. The children are doing very well, and he regularly receives their school reports. Our contact person and his wife have been donating a sum of money every month for years.
The association was co-founded by a friend of an Infomet employee. Its primary purpose is to support families and children/young people in their development and mental health. A particular focus is placed on professional preventive, therapeutic, and (socio-)educational projects and/or measures to support and promote the social integration of families with young children, families and children in crisis or exceptional situations, and those who have experienced migration or trauma. Many of the individuals affected have come to Switzerland as refugees.
The wife of one of our Infomet employees has known Elke Zwicker and her husband for many years. They emigrated to Cape Town to dedicate themselves to building supervised daycare centers in the slums through their organization "Little Lambs." A few years ago, the Infomet employee's wife visited them in Cape Town with her mother for a friend's wedding. Because of this close relationship and the significant impact a donation can have, the Infomet employee is pleased to support this organization.
A few years ago, during a client visit, an Infomet employee met this amazing woman and founder who, with great dedication and passion, established this organization in Guatemala. She provides girls with an education, thus giving them a path to a self-determined life. She is committed to providing unwavering and carefully selected support, which she would like to strengthen this year.
In a part of the world where a large proportion of women in rural areas still have few prospects, Pulsos de Esperanza young women the opportunity for a better future through education.
In addition to traditional education, Pulsos de Esperanza great emphasis on the girls' personal development and further supports this through targeted workshops. For professional implementation, they collaborate with various organizations to offer monthly workshops covering diverse topics such as education, Guatemalan politics and history, women's empowerment, and various crafts.
It is also important to them that the girls can remain in their familiar surroundings – they live with their families and attend the school best suited to their needs.
The organization's goal is for the girls to grow into confident young women who take responsibility for themselves and their communities, become pillars of the community, and have a secure and self-determined future.
The non-profit foundation aims to promote the vocational and social integration of young people with learning disabilities. To this end, the Stift Höfli institution offers, for the first time, vocational training in 10 different professions – supported by the disability insurance. The training companies are primarily located in Oberstammheim and the neighboring town of Nussbaumen, Thurgau. The on-site residential program comprises five progressive living levels. The goal is the social integration and maximum autonomy of these young people. From what I can see in Stammheim, they are doing a good job and contributing to reducing the number of people who need to rely on social welfare or disability insurance benefits, enabling them to lead more independent lives.
The family of one of our informants has been supporting this organization with donations since 2015 and even participated in a fundraising campaign (Oranges for Children, oranges given away in exchange for a donation). Terre des Hommes primarily helps children in need worldwide and is the leading Swiss children's aid organization. Children are the future, but unfortunately, they are also often the victims. Therefore, this issue is very close to the hearts of our informant and his family.
