Infometis @ Accelerate 2018
Infometis was prominently represented at Accelerate 2018 in Vienna again this year. A total of six Infometis employees attended the Tricentis DevOps event. The event began for the partners on Monday with a wealth of interesting information. We were brought up to date and informed about Tricentis' future plans. The official Accelerate 2018 followed on Tuesday and Wednesday. The following topics were our highlights of this year's event:
Digital Transformation
The primary theme addressed by Tricentis at Accelerate 2018 was digital transformation. Attendees were made aware of the topic through various expert presentations and case studies. The question arose whether digitalization necessitates a reinvention of testing. It's clear that continuous testing is essential due to the increased speed (time to market) and agile transformation. Many teams are therefore already successfully implementing a DevOps approach.
Infometis presentation
Another highlight was the presentation by our information expert, Nishan Portoyan. He demonstrated the impact of digital transformation on testing using a practical example. In his client project, he showed how test automation with Tosca can be implemented in an agile environment. The challenges he faced, which he mastered very cleverly, were fascinating. The DevOps transformation is currently in full swing at Swiss Re's DWP department. Entire end-to-end processes are being automated with Tosca. We are eagerly awaiting Nishan's next presentation, which will cover the entire DevOps cycle.
qTest and Tosca
Between presentations, attendees had the opportunity to experience various Tosca features at the various booths. A particularly exciting highlight was the integration of qTest from QA Symphony and Tosca. QA Symphony and Tricentis announced their merger in early 2018. It was demonstrated that qTest is integrated with Tosca without the need for any additional third-party software. QA Symphony's test management tool serves to centralize test cases and their results, thereby supporting agile processes. In a future version, qTest will be embedded within Tosca.
Robotic Process Automation
Another topic we found exciting at Accelerate 2018 in Vienna was Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Tricentis will be offering another tool for production automation in the future. At their RPA booth, we were able to take a look at the first version of Tosca RPA (the final name is not yet known).
It was three intense and very exciting days. We're all looking forward to next year and are eager to see what highlights Accelerate 2019 will bring.
