IREB® CPRE Foundation Level

The IREB® Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE) course combines theoretical requirements engineering knowledge with our many years of practical experience. You will learn the theoretical foundations in both traditional and, especially, agile contexts. The seminar follows the official CPRE-FL syllabus of the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB). We place great emphasis on practical exercises and utilize visual learning methods. With successful IREB certification, you will join the ranks of over 60,000 certified requirements engineering professionals.

Program & Content

Day 1 (each a Monday):

• Introduction and overview of Requirements Engineering (RE)
• Basic principles of RE
• Work products of requirements engineering and documentation practices

Day 2 (the following day, i.e., Tuesday):

• natural language requirements documentation
• Model-based requirements documentation (especially UML modeling, such as class diagrams, activity diagrams and state diagrams)
• Investigative techniques
• Identify and resolve requirement conflicts

Day 3 (each Monday one week later):

• RE process and work structure
• Requirements Management: Reviewing, agreeing on, and managing requirements
• RE tool support

The IREB® certification exam (CPRE) normally takes place at the end of the third day of the course. Upon request, the certification exam can also be taken online at a mutually agreed-upon time.
